Demi Lovato launches her new clothing line

Demi Lovato might have broken up with Joe Jonas but the teenage star is not letting it come into her way. The starlet recently unveiled her new Sonny Monroe clothing line.

Though Demi is still young, owning your own fashion line is not uncommon in Hollywood. The new line called Sony Monroe for D-Signed consists of clothes that are inspired by Demi’s character in Disney’s “Camp Rock” and “Sonny. All the new designs on Demi’s clothing line are closely taken based on her looks in these shows. From shirts to skirts to dresses to pants, headbands, to necklaces, bracelets and handbags

Since most teenagers would be expected to purchase items from this line, the retailers are careful not to put them up for a high price so most of these designs are priced from a low $4.99 to $19.99. The Sonny Monroe clothing line will be out this August and it can be purchased from Target and online outlet, Target.com.

New Sunglasses Campaign launched by Steven Meisel

Good news for Prada fans out there, the fashion house has now launched their new sunglasses campaign that is shot specially by Steven Meisel. The new sunglasses line by Prada is apparently inspired by the music of jazz.

Unveiled in New York, the new sleek collection is called the “Swing” and is inspired by the melodic notes of jazz, based on its design. The sunglasses come in a nice jazzy design consisting of slick lines, and muted ivory, black and tortoiseshell color palette.

Since the new collection is special, Prada enrolled the services of Steven Meisel to shoot the arty image and video campaign. The campaign features supermodel, Angela Lindvall, acting as a chanteuse. The Prada Swing collection is now available in Prada stores and selected retailers worldwide starting from October.

Wear Calvin Klein for Fall

This fall Calvin Klein aka. CK has unleashed their newest designs for this season. The new designs were defined as strong, sleek and minimalist. According to creative director, Kevin Carrigan, the looks are more “Minimal, sexy, powerful and very close to the body,” and Calvin Klein is set to release from the very same line, women’s and men’s sportswear, jeans and underwear collections.

According to the very same creative director, the collection had to have a streamlined, aerodynamic feel to it and it had to be athletic at least. Though the new fall collection might sound boring, CK goes on to explain that it’s all about being luxurious, presenting it as such, and it’s a mixture of soft fabrics and elegant ensembles. The brand wants people who wear this new line to want to dress up in these clothes and more importantly, feel comfortable in their skins. The new CK Fall collection consists of mostly black and gray colors.

More on China, manufacturer number one

To have their items made in China, these brands save millions thanks to the cheap labour in China. Come to think of it, if the same branded items were to be made in these brands native countries, say Europe or US, the prices would certainly be double of what they currently are.

Yes, simultaneously the risk of having these products replicated is very much possible but it’s up to the buyers to know and recognize the quality that they are buying. As a matter of fact, we did point out before that replicated goods are basically for people who can’t afford the real ones.

At the same time, it would be nice to think that these brands are offering work to the people of China when the country itself is not that rich and it is overpopulated. So in a way, it’s a 50-50 situation.

China, manufacturer number one

Many has been said and commented on goods made in China but one has yet to identify that goods coming from China are used in our daily life without us knowing about it. From the plates that we eat on to our clothes to our laptops or our phones, everything is manufactured in China today.

When we see a designer good being manufactured in China, this doesn’t mean that it’s a pirated or counterfeit item but we should bear in mind that to avoid heavy costs, high-profile companies would rather have workers in China manufacturing their products rather than paying thrice the price for the same service in their respective native countries.

When you buy a designer clothing item, it is made in China but it is from the brand itself not a China-design. As matter of fact, thanks to China designer items ranging from shoes to handbags or clothes are cheaper and affordable to many.

Paris Menswear Fashion Show

Then we moved on to the Rick Owens’ show. If you have never heard of this designer, don’t worry as we didn’t either, this man was born in California and here we are his show for a first-hand taste of his designs. Describing the clothes is a bit difficult but the new clothes are along the lines of sleeveless Barbarella vests worn with platform stripper boots.

Next was the show of French designer Alexis Mabille. Mabille’s designs consisted of bow ties, butterflies, and daisies in the dunes, a very happy atmosphere created when wearing his designs. Last word on this, awkward like Alice in Wonderland.

Moving on to Louis Vuitton’s show which showcased its new bags, very nice designs indeed. The other LV stuffs which we saw on the ramp are a travel-ready collection of LV items. All three shows were totally different from each other but appealing in many ways.
